Second Church - Your Second Family

The people of this church family not only care about each other, but they care for one another. Community is the glue that holds us all together. Almost everything we do​ is free and open to all. This is how we build community.

We get it. Life can be hard. The loneliness epidemic is real. Society is polarized and mean-spirited. 

This is why having a loving, supportive, community of kind and faithful people around you is an extra add on to the insanity of our modern world, but a counter-cultural way of living. This church is gift to those who seek it.

Our church leadership is always creating opportunities to be together in a number of ways throughout the year.  

​

Faith Formation opportunities where we can explore aspects of the faith together in small groups or retreat settings.

​

Shared meals that includes luncheons, potlucks suppers, church picnics, and even a progressive supper where you drive to peoples' homes for each 'course.'.

 

Partnering with local non-profits in acts of compassionate service in Newton and beyond.

Fun and relaxing events like canoeing and kayaking on the Charles.

​

We love supporting Newton Public Schools' musicals and other performances. 

​

We also have a number of great concerts taking place in our own building, ranging from Jazz, Classical, Folk, Indian, etc. Many of them are free.
